What was the Unfiltered Event in Denver?

Unfiltered was a live real estate event held August 20, 2026 at Venture X in Denver's Dairy Block, where six Denver agents and marketers broke down exactly how they built their businesses. Every session is on video below.

Most real estate events hand you a highlight reel.

Somebody gets on stage, tells you their volume, thanks their team, and sits down. You leave with a page of numbers you cannot use and a quiet feeling that you are behind.

Unfiltered was built to be the opposite. The tagline on the screen all day was “Be in the room,” and that was the whole idea. Put real Denver operators on a couch with a microphone, take the filter off, and let agents hear what this business actually looks like from the inside. No booths. No pitch decks. No recruiting.

I co-hosted it with Gavin Ekstrom and Jordan Terrell, and the room filled up.

Here is every session, what came out of it, and the video so you can watch the whole thing yourself.

Stacie Chadwick: $1.9 Million to $126 Million Without Leaving Her Own Neighborhood

Stacie had been out of the workforce for 17 years when she got licensed at 49. Her first year she closed $1.9 million. Last year she closed over $126 million, almost all of it inside the community she has lived in for 22 years.

What she covered:

  • Why she stopped taking deals outside her own community, and what that did to her confidence

  • The one question that won her a builder listing every other agent was already circling

  • How 150 five star reviews that all name the same neighborhood got her surfaced by AI search

  • Why she refuses to use the word farming, and the word she uses instead

  • The three calls a day habit she says is the single thing to start tomorrow

The takeaway for a Denver agent: depth beats reach. Being slightly known across ten suburbs is worse than being the obvious answer in one. Stacie is the proof, and her advice for tomorrow morning costs nothing: three calls a day.

Stacie is with LIV Sotheby's International Realty and is over $100 million again this year. I wrote up her story in more detail here: How One Agent Sold $126 Million in a Single Neighborhood

Cody Walker: A $4 an Hour VA Sold 31 Homes for Him Last Year

Cody put a piece of math on the screen that made the room uncomfortable. Take last year's net income, divide it by 2,080, and that is what an hour of your time is worth. Then he asked why everyone was still hanging lockboxes.

What he covered:

  • The hourly rate math that tells you which tasks you should never touch again

  • When to hire your first assistant, and the transaction counts where he added each one

  • How to turn something you already do into a checklist somebody else can run

  • The daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly review cadence that keeps it moving

  • What happened when Google shut down his best lead source overnight, and how he grew 68% anyway

His slide that got the most phones in the air was titled “Document the Entire Journey,” and it broke the client experience into six stages: marketing, response, follow up, conversion, service, and post close. Underneath it: the best SOP does not need to be perfect, it needs to exist. Record it. Checklist it. Define who owns the document.

The takeaway for a Denver agent: you cannot delegate a process that only lives in your head. Pick the one stage where you improvise every single time, record yourself doing it once, and you have your first SOP.

Cody owns Source Home Group at eXp Realty and closed about 50 deals in the last 12 months as a solo agent, running the back end with four full time virtual assistants and a transaction coordinator.

Jordan Terrell: 2,000 Transactions Started With One Lane

Jordan opened with a story about an agent in Los Angeles who has no website, cannot be found online, and makes $3 million a year. The room went quiet.

What he covered:

  • Why chasing two rabbits means you catch neither, straight out of Gary Keller's The ONE Thing

  • A thought experiment worth sitting with: what if universities never made you pick a major

  • The six things he built before he ever sold a single house

  • Why knowledge by itself is only potential, and what actually turns it into production

  • The 4.3 million practice shots behind one of the greatest players ever

The takeaway for a Denver agent: if you are busy but not growing, the problem is usually not effort. It is that you serve everyone and are known for nothing. Jordan built a short focus assessment that sends you a personalized PDF on where you will win and where your blind spots are: take the focus assessment

Jordan leads The Jordan Terrell Group and has closed more than 2,000 transactions.

Elise Losasso and Gerard Langhuoth: $54 Million, Zero Cold Calls

One of them did $54 million last year and still threw up the morning she walked on stage. The other has never made a single outgoing call or knocked a single door in his life. Both built their entire pipeline on Instagram.

What they covered:

  • Why Stories, not Reels, are where the relationships and the deals actually start

  • How Gerard built a referral business in three and a half years with zero cold calls and zero door knocking

  • The daily posting rhythm they both run, and what happens the week you stop

  • What social media actually costs, from $0 to full production

  • How to handle a listing appointment when the seller already has an agent

They also posted a live story from the stage with the whole room in it, which is a very on brand way to make the point.

The takeaway for a Denver agent: stop optimizing Reels for strangers and start using Stories with the people who already know you. Camera on yourself, every day, and a story poll can turn into local business faster than a month of polished content.

Elise leads the Losasso Group at The Agency and closed $54 million last year. Gerard is with Guide Real Estate and measures his business in relationships instead of followers.

Jason Cummings: I Haven't Posted on Social in 7 Years

Jason says no to 20 to 30 listings a year. On purpose. If you are taking every deal that comes your way and wondering why you are exhausted, this is the session to sit with.

What he covered:

  • How he found the hire that changed his business, out of 288 applicants

  • Why he turns down 20 to 30 listings a year on purpose

  • The actual payroll numbers behind a team doing his volume

  • What he would tell an agent who cannot afford back end support yet

  • The two roles he is adding next that almost nobody in Colorado is running

  • Why he left Compass for Serhant at 50, in his own words

The takeaway for a Denver agent: saying no is a growth strategy. Jason's business is built around marketing and operations support rather than raw volume, and he did not need a single social post in seven years to do it.

Jason is a founding agent with Serhant in Colorado after seven years at Compass, leading a five agent team.

Gavin Ekstrom and Me: 84% of Agents Have Not Closed a Home in 2026

Jordan hosted this one and kept us honest. Cold calls flopped for me. So did the Costco pop by baskets. What finally worked was picking one lane and going all the way down it.

What we covered:

  • Why trying everything is losing in a year when 84% of agents have not closed a home

  • How Gavin narrowed to agents and builders, then ran 50 plus events for 2,000 Denver agents last year

  • How I went from cold calls and pop by baskets to 119 classes and events in a single year

  • What a real title and lender partnership looks like past the transaction level

  • The redwood root analogy for why agents who go it alone stall out

The takeaway for a Denver agent: redwoods do not have deep roots. They stay standing because their roots interlock with the trees around them. Every person on that stage got there the same way, and none of them did it alone.

Gavin has been in mortgage since 1993 and built his niche around real estate agents and builders.

The Five Threads That Ran Through the Whole Day

Six sessions, six completely different businesses, and the same handful of ideas kept surfacing.

  1. Pick one lane. Stacie picked a neighborhood. Jordan picked a specialty. Gavin picked agents and builders. Nobody on that stage got there by serving everyone.

  2. Document before you delegate. Cody's SOP framework and Jason's hiring story are the same lesson from two directions. The process has to exist outside your head before anyone else can run it.

  3. Say no more than you say yes. Jason turns down 20 to 30 listings a year. Stacie turns down business outside her community. That is not arrogance, it is capacity.

  4. Relationships beat reach. Gerard has never cold called. Elise runs Stories, not ad spend. Stacie has 150 reviews that all name the same place.

  5. Proximity compounds. The best thing in that room was not on the stage. It was the conversations between sessions.

Why I Put This Together

I am an Account Executive with Chicago Title of Colorado, and my job is not to sell you a closing. It is to make sure the agents I work with have the tools, the education, and the rooms that grow their business. That is why I teach classes on AI, marketing, and business systems across Denver Metro, and it is why I helped build Unfiltered.

Chicago Title of Colorado has been the title partner agents across this state have relied on for decades. The part I care about is the rest of it: making sure you are not building your business alone, and that when a deal does land on your desk, you have a title team that gets it closed cleanly.

We are doing this again. Same format, same city, same filter off.
