How Shay Hata Sold Over $77 Million in a Declining Market: Strategies Revealed

Updated: Feb 23

I recently had the privilege of hosting an event called Verified Agent, a gathering designed to empower and inspire real estate professionals by sharing innovative strategies and insights from some of the industry's most successful figures. One of the highlights of this event was flying in Shay Hata from Chicago, a renowned real estate expert known for her exceptional achievements and unique approach to the business.

Shay's presentation was nothing short of inspirational. She shared her journey and the unconventional strategies that have led to her remarkable success in the real estate industry. Despite being based in Denver, Shay runs her real estate business in Chicago, demonstrating the power of leveraging technology and systems to manage a successful business remotely.

One of the most compelling aspects of Shay's story is her incredible performance in a declining market. In 2022, she managed to close over $77.1 million in sales, amounting to 120 transactions with an average sales price of $641,000. These numbers are a testament to her expertise, dedication, and the effectiveness of her methods.

Shay's approach to real estate is refreshingly different. She emphasizes the importance of work-life balance, choosing to work from 8 AM to 3 PM and prioritizing her family. This philosophy challenges the hustle culture prevalent in the industry and proves that it is possible to achieve significant success without sacrificing personal well-being.

Throughout her presentation, Shay shared valuable insights into the systems and automations she has implemented in her business. From client onboarding to transaction management, she has streamlined every aspect of her operations to ensure efficiency and consistency. Her focus on referrals and providing white-glove service to her clients has enabled her to grow her business without spending on lead generation.

Shay also highlighted the importance of post-transaction follow-up, extending up to 15 years, to ensure she remains top of mind for her clients. This long-term approach to client relationships has been a key factor in her sustained success.

For those who couldn't attend the event or wish to revisit the invaluable insights shared, I've embedded a recording of Shay's presentation below.

Her story is a powerful reminder of the potential within the real estate market and the impact of innovative strategies and genuine client care.

Shay's presentation at the Verified Agent event was a source of inspiration and a wealth of knowledge for all attendees. Her success story, underpinned by her unique approach and commitment to her clients, offers valuable lessons for real estate professionals looking to elevate their business and achieve a better work-life balance.

I'm grateful to Shay for sharing her expertise and to all the attendees who made the Verified Agent event a success. Let's continue to learn from each other and strive for excellence in our industry.
