Third Annual Real Estate Charity Dodgeball Is Officially in the Books
The third annual Real Estate Charity Dodgeball event is officially in the books, and what a day.
There is something pretty special about getting the real estate community together outside of the usual networking environment. No conference room. No formal presentation. No sitting around exchanging business cards and making small talk.
Just a gym full of real estate professionals, dodgeballs flying across the room, teams talking a little trash, people cheering from the sidelines, and everyone coming together for a good cause.
That is the kind of event I love being part of.
As much as I enjoy teaching classes, hosting workshops, and helping agents with marketing, AI, social media, title resources, and business growth, I also believe there is a lot of value in creating spaces where people can just connect as people.
That is what this event is all about.
It is real estate. It is community. It is competition. It is charity. And yes, it is also a reminder that some people take dodgeball very seriously.
Why Community Events Matter in Real Estate
Real estate is a relationship business. Everyone says that, but events like this are where you actually feel it.
Most agents spend so much of their time working. They are showing homes, writing offers, negotiating inspection items, managing clients, creating content, attending closings, following up with leads, and trying to keep their business moving forward.
It can be a lot.
So when the real estate community gets a chance to step outside of that day-to-day grind and do something fun together, I think it matters.
Events like this give people the opportunity to:
Meet other agents in a more natural environment
Build relationships with lenders, title reps, vendors, and industry partners
Strengthen existing connections
Support a cause bigger than themselves
Have fun with people they usually only see in a professional setting
Create memories that last longer than a typical networking event
And that last point is important.
A lot of networking events come and go. You show up, talk to a few people, grab a drink, and leave.
But when you are on a dodgeball team with someone, or you are cheering them on from the sideline, or you are laughing because someone got absolutely smoked by a throw they did not see coming, that creates a different kind of connection.
That is the kind of connection people remember.
Getting Outside the Normal Real Estate Networking Box
One of the reasons I love this event is because it is not your standard real estate networking event.
There is nothing wrong with the traditional happy hour, lunch and learn, panel discussion, or class. I host a lot of those, and I think they are incredibly valuable when they are done well.
But every once in a while, it is good to mix things up.
A charity dodgeball event gives people permission to show up a little differently. It creates energy right away. It gives people something to talk about. It removes some of the awkwardness that can happen at traditional networking events.
Instead of walking into a room and wondering who to talk to, you are walking into a shared experience.
You are on a team. You are watching a game. You are cheering. You are laughing. You are part of something.
That is powerful.
For real estate professionals, that is also a great reminder when thinking about your own business and marketing.
The best relationships are not always built through formal coffee meetings or scripted follow-up. Sometimes they are built through shared experiences, community involvement, and simply being someone who shows up.
A Big Thank You to Everyone Who Showed Up
I am always grateful for everyone who shows up to these events.
Whether you played, sponsored, donated, cheered, helped organize, invited someone, shared the event, or simply came to support the day, thank you.
Events like this do not happen because of one person. They happen because the community decides to show up.
And this community continues to show up in a big way.
That is something I do not take lightly.
The Denver and Colorado real estate community is full of people who are busy, pulled in a million directions, and constantly working to take care of their clients and grow their businesses. So when people take time out of their schedule to attend an event, support a cause, and connect with others, that means a lot.
It is easy to say community matters. It is another thing to actually show up for it.
This event is proof that people are willing to do that.
Real Estate Is Better When It Feels Like a Community
One of the things I have always enjoyed about working in the real estate industry is that, even though it can be competitive, there is still a strong sense of community when people make the effort to build it.
Agents may compete for listings. Lenders may compete for clients. Vendors may compete for relationships. Title companies may compete for business.
That is all part of the industry.
But at the end of the day, we are all part of the same ecosystem.
We all benefit when the real estate community is stronger, more connected, more collaborative, and more supportive.
That is why I believe events like this matter.
They remind us that real estate is not just contracts, closings, lead generation, CRM follow-up, and social media posts.
It is people.
It is relationships.
It is trust.
It is showing up.
And sometimes, it is throwing dodgeballs at your friends and calling it networking.
The Power of Doing Something Different
For real estate agents, there is also a business lesson here.
When you create something different, people remember it.
That applies to events, content, marketing, client appreciation, farming, open houses, and pretty much anything else you do in your business.
It is easy to do what everyone else is doing. It is easy to host the same event, send the same email, post the same content, and use the same scripts.
But when you create something that feels different, people pay attention.
A charity dodgeball event stands out because it is not expected. It is fun. It has personality. It gives people something to talk about. It creates content. It creates memories. It gives people a reason to engage.
That is something every real estate professional can learn from.
You do not have to host a dodgeball tournament to create memorable moments in your business. But you can ask yourself:
What can I do that feels more personal?
What can I do that brings people together?
What kind of event would my clients, referral partners, or community actually enjoy?
How can I create something people want to talk about afterward?
How can I make my brand feel more human?
Those are important questions.
The agents who build the strongest businesses are usually not just the ones who market the most. They are the ones who create connection consistently.
Thank You to the Sponsors, Supporters, and Volunteers
A charity event takes a lot of moving pieces.
There are teams to organize, sponsors to coordinate, people to invite, logistics to figure out, and plenty of small details behind the scenes that most people never see.
So to everyone who helped make the third annual Real Estate Charity Dodgeball event happen, thank you.
Thank you to the sponsors who stepped up.
Thank you to the people who donated.
Thank you to the players who brought the energy.
Thank you to everyone who cheered from the sidelines.
Thank you to everyone who helped spread the word.
Thank you to everyone who believed this was worth being part of.
Events like this only work when people care enough to participate.
And this year, once again, the real estate community showed up.
Huge Thank You to Rocket Lister
I also want to give a huge thank you to Rocket Lister for filming and editing the recap video.
They always do such a great job capturing the energy of these events.
That matters because the video is not just about showing what happened. It helps preserve the feeling of the day.
The competition.
The laughter.
The energy.
The people.
The little moments that make an event feel alive.
Having a strong recap video gives everyone a chance to relive it, share it, and remember why these events are worth doing in the first place.
Rocket Lister continues to be a great partner in helping capture these community events, and I really appreciate the work they put into making the final video look great.
Why Recap Videos Are So Valuable for Real Estate Events
This is also a good reminder for real estate agents, teams, brokerages, lenders, and industry partners.
If you are hosting events, classes, workshops, client appreciation parties, community gatherings, or charity fundraisers, document them.
A recap video is one of the most valuable pieces of content you can create from an event.
It gives you content for:
YouTube Shorts
Email follow-up
Blog posts
Event pages
Future event promotion
Sponsor recaps
Community storytelling
A good recap video helps people who attended remember the event, and it helps people who missed it feel like they should come to the next one.
That is powerful.
For real estate professionals, content like this also builds trust. It shows that you are active. It shows that you are connected. It shows that you are part of the community.
And most importantly, it shows instead of just telling.
That is always stronger.
Charity, Competition, and Connection
One of the best parts of this event is that it combines a few things that really matter.
First, it supports a good cause.
Second, it gives people a reason to come together.
Third, it creates a fun, competitive environment that does not feel like work.
That combination is what makes the event special.
People like being part of something that has energy and purpose. When you can bring those two things together, you create an event that feels meaningful and memorable.
And for me, that is the goal.
I want the real estate community to have more opportunities to connect in ways that feel real. Not forced. Not overly polished. Not transactional.
Just real people, having fun, building relationships, and doing something positive together.
A Reminder for Real Estate Agents: Relationships Still Matter
There are so many tools, apps, platforms, and marketing strategies available to real estate agents right now.
AI tools. CRM systems. Lead funnels. Video platforms. Social media scheduling tools. Email automation. Paid ads. SEO. Google Business Profiles. Listing marketing systems.
All of that matters.
I teach a lot of it.
But none of those tools replace relationships.
They support relationships.
They help you stay consistent, show up more often, create better content, and communicate more effectively. But at the core of this business, people still want to work with people they know, like, trust, and remember.
That is why community events matter.
That is why showing up matters.
That is why being part of something outside of your normal business routine matters.
When agents invest in relationships, they build a more durable business. One that is not only dependent on algorithms, ads, or cold leads.
And that is something I will always encourage agents to think about.
What I Hope People Took Away From the Event
Of course, I hope everyone had a great time.
I hope everyone laughed, competed, connected, and maybe left with a few new relationships.
But beyond that, I hope this event was a reminder that the real estate industry is better when we build community intentionally.
It is better when we support each other.
It is better when we create opportunities for people to connect.
It is better when we make room for fun.
It is better when we use our networks to support good causes.
That is one of the reasons I enjoy hosting and supporting events like this. They bring people together in a way that feels bigger than business.
And in an industry that can sometimes feel stressful, competitive, and fast-moving, I think we need more of that.
Already Looking Forward to the Next One
The third annual Real Estate Charity Dodgeball event was a great reminder of why this event has become something I look forward to each year.
The energy was great. The competition was fun. The community showed up. The cause mattered. And the recap video captured it all beautifully.
So again, thank you.
Thank you to everyone who played.
Thank you to everyone who sponsored.
Thank you to everyone who donated.
Thank you to everyone who cheered.
Thank you to everyone who helped make the event happen.
Thank you to Rocket Lister for filming and editing the recap video.
And thank you to the real estate community for continuing to show up in such a big way.
Already looking forward to the next one.

Final Takeaway
Real estate is a relationship business, but relationships are built through more than transactions, meetings, and follow-up calls. They are built through shared experiences, community involvement, and showing up for something bigger than yourself.
The Real Estate Charity Dodgeball event is a perfect example of what happens when the Denver real estate community comes together to have fun, support a good cause, and strengthen the relationships that make this industry so special.
