This Free Claude Skill Builds Your Morning Briefing Before You Wake Up

What is a Claude morning briefing for real estate agents?
It is one short email Claude writes and sends you every weekday morning: the weather, your calendar, the emails that need you, your deals in motion and local market news. The free skill below builds yours in about 10 minutes.

It is one .md file. Grab it here, then keep reading for what lands in your inbox and how to set it up.

Open Claude, start a new chat, attach the file (or paste it in) and press enter. Claude interviews you, builds your personal version and sets it to run every weekday.
Why I built this
Every morning I used to open five things before I knew what my day looked like: my calendar, my inbox, a weather app, a couple of real estate news sites and whatever I had promised someone the day before.
Now one email does that for me. I have been getting my own version every weekday for months, and it is the first thing I read with my coffee. By the time I sit down, I already know who needs a reply, what is on my calendar, and what I can talk to agents about that day.
Agents kept asking me for it after my Claude classes. Their mornings are even messier than mine: showings, inspection deadlines, lender emails and clients texting at 6 a.m. So I rebuilt it for agents and made it free.
What lands in your inbox every morning
Nine sections, built to read in about two minutes on your phone. You can turn the optional ones off during setup.
VIP watch. Anything from your top five people (your broker, a top client, your lender partner) jumps to the top, with whether you have replied.
Weather. High, low, rain or snow, plus one line on what it means for showings, open houses, inspections and photo shoots.
Today's calendar. Every appointment with bold times, plus red flags: back-to-back showings with no drive time, double-bookings and anything missing an address.
Emails that need you. Real people only, split into "needs you today" and "quick replies," plus up to three threads where you went quiet.
Deals in motion. Inspection, appraisal, loan, title commitment and closing dates pulled from your email, with the address.
Market news. Two local items, two state items and two national ones, each with "what to know" and "say this to clients."
Rate check. Today's average 30-year fixed rate and the change from last week, with one line on what it means for buyers.
Sphere touch. One person you have not talked to in a while and a real reason to reach out.
A 30-second video script. Tied to today's news when it fits, ready to record.
The two sections agents like most
Say this to clients
Most news recaps stop at the headline. Every news item in your briefing ends with one sentence you could actually say on a call or put in a post. That turns reading the news into something you use with clients the same day.
Deals in motion
Contract dates live in a dozen email threads. The briefing pulls the upcoming ones into one list with the property address.
One rule is built in: every date is labeled "Pulled from email. Confirm every date against the contract." The skill never guesses a date. Your contract and your transaction coordinator are still the source of truth. The briefing just makes sure nothing sneaks up on you.
How it shows up every day without you asking
This is the part people get confused on, so here it is plainly. There are two pieces:
Your email connection. Connecting Gmail or Outlook to Claude lets it read your inbox and send the finished briefing to you.
A scheduled task. This tells Claude to run your briefing at the time you pick every weekday, even when you do not have Claude open.
The skill sets both up at the end of the interview. You wake up and the briefing is waiting in your inbox.
If scheduled tasks are not available on your Claude plan, it still works. Open Claude when you sit down and type "run my morning briefing." It builds and emails it on the spot.
What you need before you start
A Claude account. You can sign up at claude.ai.
Your calendar connected: Google Calendar, or Microsoft 365 if you use Outlook.
Your email connected: Gmail, or Microsoft 365 for Outlook. Outlook users on a work account may need their admin to allow the connector.
Web search turned on, so Claude can pull weather, news and rates.
Missing one? The skill tells you in one sentence and keeps going. The briefing just has less in it until you connect it.
How to set it up
Download the skill file above.
Open Claude and start a new chat.
Attach the file or paste its contents, then press enter.
Answer about 10 quick questions: your market, your VIPs, what to filter out and what time you want it. Every question has a default, so "you pick" works.
Review the short summary Claude shows you and approve it.
Say yes when it offers to schedule the briefing for weekdays.
Let it run once right away so a real briefing lands in your inbox today.
After that first one, Claude asks what you want more of, less of, or gone. Tell it. It updates your skill.
Make it yours
Add a VIP the day a big listing or a new referral partner comes in.
Filter the noise. MLS alerts, portal lead notifications, SentriLock and DocuSign confirmations are the usual suspects.
Move the time. If you are up at 5:30 for the gym, have it waiting at 5:15.
Ask for one more section. If there is something you check every morning, just tell Claude to add it.
Frequently asked questions
Does Claude send emails to my clients?
No. The only email the briefing sends is the one to you. It reads your inbox to summarize it, and it never replies to anyone on your behalf.
Is the deals in motion section reliable enough to run my transactions?
Treat it as a reminder, not your system of record. It only lists dates that appear in your email, and it always tells you to confirm them against the contract.
Does it work with Outlook?
Yes, through the Microsoft 365 connector. It works with work or school Microsoft accounts. If you are on a personal Outlook address, the calendar and news sections still work, but the inbox sections will be limited.
Can I change it after it is built?
Anytime. Tell Claude what to add, cut or move and it updates your skill. You can also change the time or pause the scheduled task.
Do I need to be technical?
No. You answer questions in plain English and approve a summary. If something needs connecting, Claude tells you exactly what to click.
